Congratulations, Matt Geib, TAAR's Rookie of The Year!!

At the TAAR (Traverse Area Association of Realtors) Installation of Officers and Awards dinner on Thursday evening, our very own Matt Geib was awarded The Rookie of The Year Award. We're very proud to have Matt representing our firm and know this is the first of many successful years he'll have in the industry. If you're looking for a hard working agent to help you buy or sell in 2012, you'd be wise to let Matt throw his hat in the ring! Click his photo to view his current listings, learn more about who he is and quickly search listings in his service area. Great job Matt!!! Here is the text from his nomination for the award.

"Graduating from CMU with a degree in Entrepreneurship and having been a small business owner prior to joining Homewaters, L.L.C. in October of 2010, Matt has a skill set that is ideal for our profession. An ability to deal with all sorts of personalities, tremendous attention to detail, a creative mind and, most importantly, a tenacious work ethic lead Matt to close $2,050,300 in total sales volume in 2011. While he had a couple of reasonably high priced sales on Grand Traverse Bay, Lake Skegemog and Spider Lake, most of Matt's transactions were those "grind 'em out" sort of deals that must be a part of any successful REALTOR's portfolio. Without exception, Matt was willing to take on even the most unattractive leads and work as hard as possible to turn them into a sale. He raked up the miles in an "I'll take every lead I can get" campaign that resulted in sales all the way from Baldwin to Traverse City to Mancelona.

In addition to having a terrific first year in sales, Matt showed a genuine interest in getting involved in TAAR. He went through Professional Standards training so he could serve on The Grievance Committee if asked to do so. He'll also be serving as The Reverse Mentor to The TAAR Board of Directors in 2012 and has been invited to be a member of the 2012 MLS Committee.

Matt's also proven to be an invaluable resource to our firm. He's constantly trying new marketing strategies, many of which have lead to great success for our other agents and our company as a whole. It never hurts from a competitive standpoint to have an agent like Matt among the ranks either."
