Antrim and Kalkaska County Chain of Lakes

The Lower Chain of Lakes in Antrim and touching into Kalkaska County is comprised of six exceptional bodies of water - Intermediate Lake, Lake Bellaire, Clam Lake, Torch Lake, Lake Skegemog and Elk Lake.  These lakes are all connected for boating and fishing fun and ultimately feeds into Lake Michigan in Elk Rapids. This Fishweb Map details everything you may want to know about each of these bodies of water including depths, types of fishing and public boat ramps. Just click on the individual bodies of water to pull up more information.  The largest of these lakes is Torch Lake, at 18 miles long, is Michigan's longest lake.  Torch Lake also is Michigan's second largest lake covering over 29 square miles. Torch Lake, with an average depth of over 200 feet, is a fine habitat for trout.  Downrigger fishing is the best way to go after the trout that stay in the cold depths most of the time.  Besides the great fishing and boating, Torch Lake, pictured above, has been named one of the ten most beautiful lakes in the world.
