The
Boardman area of Traverse City has the TART trail running through the
Southern edge of this neighborhood, public boat launch access to Boardman Lake,
Traverse Area Community Sailing with programs for kids and teens, and some
great neighborhood restaurants, cafés and more. A new local favorite Raduno just opened up in this neighborhood, offering amazing and delicious food. Find a great
microbrewery experience with Filling
Station, located in a former railroad depot built in 1927 along
the shores of Boardman Lake. The building has a storied history, and a
gorgeous view to enjoy great beers, fresh salads, and housemade wood-fired
pizzas. See more about the history of the railroad industry in Traverse
City and "ales by the rails" at the Filling Station
building here. The Public Library is located within
the neighborhood offering a great resource to students and families.
The Boardman neighborhood sits between State Street on the North edge, and Boardman Lake to the South. This neighborhood, with homes along Boardman Ave. and Washington Street, preserves some of Traverse City’s oldest and most ornate homes, many in the fanciful Queen Anne style. The Boardman Neighborhood is a primarily residential historic district, including approximately 174 structures, the majority of them well-maintained Victorian wood-frame residences covered with clapboard siding.
Stats for Boardman Neighborhood
Looking to sell downtown? Now is the time! With high sales prices and a shortage of inventory for our buyers, it doesn’t get much better to put your home on the market! The Boardman neighborhood has seen over a 55% increase in the amount of homes sold in 2017, as well as, a decrease in the median number of days on the market. This means more homes being sold and most selling faster than the year prior! These are all great things but we are still seeing a lack of options for our buyers; so if you have an interest in selling, now is that time to put it on the market. Thinking about your next move? The next couple of months are a great time to put together a strategy for this new year so that you're poised to take advantage before the snow melts.
