Enjoy East and West Twin Lakes in Lewiston Michigan

Come summertime in Lewiston, Michigan you can bet that if residents and visitors aren't enjoying championship golf at Garland Lodge and Resort they are relaxing on one of the many local pristine lakes.  And with so many options, it often seems like a water wonderland.  Yet East and West Twin Lakes just might be considered the two "jewels" of the area.  Here's why...

West Twin Lake boasts 1,313 acres of all-sport, all-fun, endless water activities.  Fisherman love West Twin for its large and small mouth bass, walleye, northern pike, tiger muskie, yellow perch, bluegill, and pumpkinseed sunfish.  In fact, fishing doesn't even slow down in the dead of winter.  Ice fishing is a favorite pastime for those willing to brave the snow and cold.

And if you love to swim, you can't go wrong with this fantastic mix of sand and gravel bottom. Clear, beautiful waters will keep you coming back for more.  And those wide open spaces are favorites for water skiiers and wake boarders alike.

Come evening, you will find families on pontoons, cruising the lake, enjoying the sunset after a long summer day.

And then there is East Twin Lake.  She may be a tad bit smaller at 830 acres, but this lake offers unparalled fishing, relaxation, and dining.  Locals love to start their days catching walleyes, which the DNR has been stocking in this lake for years - and there's no shortage! Not to mention a plethora of large mouth and small mouth bass, bluegills and yellow perch.

Enjoy the public beach right in town, or park your boat at the sandbar and visit with the locals while you take a dip in the sparkling waters.  Beautiful sandy shoreline make this a fantastic swimming location, as well.  And with a paved, public boat launch, access to this gem is easy. And did I mention you can even rent a boat for the day?

Cruise on over to the Lewiston Lodge for lunch or dinner and enjoy an infamous grinder sandwich - you won't be sorry!  There's a lakeside dock to make grabbing a bite convenient for boaters.  Plus it's fun to watch the water skiers and tubers wave as they float by.

Sure, some of the bigger towns in northern Michigan have their luxuries.  But what more could someone want than to kick back, lakeside, without the hustle and bustle that comes with bigger crowds and bigger headaches?  You can bet we'll be here, fishing in the mornings, swimming and skiing during the afternoons, and kayaking in the evening just as the sun sets - waiting for you to join us.

Interested in your own little slice of heaven?  Here's one fantastic find that is sure to please - located right on East Twin Lake.
