Gear up right for winter showings

Looks like some areas in our service areas are going to see upwards of a foot of snow this week!  We just wanted to send out a quick bit of advice if you plan to come up and take a look at some properties this winter.  First, make sure to wear a good pair of boots that are at least ankle high.  While many people do a great job of keeping the snow clear for showings, there will inevitably be some where you're going to have to break trail.  Especially if you're looking at larger parcels or vacant land.
I nice warm coat is a must even if it's not the most stylish one in your closet.  It's also a great idea to bring along gloves or mittens and a good hat just in case we get a nice northern Michigan winter blast while you're in town.  Once we get into mid winter, I always make sure I bring a few pair of snowshoes as well.  It can make the experience a lot of fun and much more enjoyable if we're going to be touring large parcels.
If you don't own gaiters yet, they're among my favorite item to have in the truck during the winter. Just strap them on over your pants and above your boots and you'll avoid all the ice and snow build up on your pant legs.  Here's a link to a typical pair you could check out.  It's absolutely beautiful up here with all the fresh snow!!  Be ready and enjoy the great winter outdoors!!
