HomeWaters Real Estate announces Joe Van Antwerp to head Commercial Division

Sales Associate Joe Van Antwerp will take the reins of HomeWaters Commercial as the division continues to grow

Traverse City, MI— February 2, 2022 — Today HomeWaters Real Estate announced that Sales Associate Joe Van Antwerp would take the role as Lead Agent for their commercial division, HomeWaters Commercial.

I’m excited to begin this new endeavor and I look forward to continuing to build upon our many successes in Commercial Real Estate, said Joe Van Antwerp, Sales Associate at HomeWaters Real Estate.

Background

HomeWaters founded their commercial division in 2019 in order to provide a much-needed alternative to the currently available options throughout northern Michigan and in Traverse City in particular.  While the residential market is saturated with more than 1,000 agents, there are only a handful of options for those seeking to enlist a commercial agent.  Joe will join Broker/Owner, Chad Brown, and Sales Associate, Joseph Sarafa, as a representative within HomeWaters Commercial.  Joe brings with him more than a decade of experience in land acquisition and leasing on behalf of the overhead power transmission industry as President of V3 Energy Group.  He joined HomeWaters in 2019 in order to add direct real estate sales to his resume and has proven to a be an invaluable member of their team

Success

Since launching HomeWaters Commercial, the division has taken part in some of the most prominent commercial sales in Traverse City including the recent sale of the vacant parcel at 309 West Front Street, the purchase of the commercial building that houses T-Mobile and Starbucks at the Grand Traverse Mall, and the condominium conversion of Trailside 45 Apartments on Garfield Road.

With over $100,000,000 in sales in 2021 and more than 450 units sold, HomeWaters has become a bit of an anomaly as a successful regional independent brokerage within an industry dominated by much larger franchises.  They believe the commercial segment is ripe for opportunity due to the lack of competition that currently exists there.

“Since our founding 15 years ago, we’ve managed to carve out a very successful business by focusing on our growth online and being very selective in the agents and brokers we’ll allow to represent our brand,” said Chad Brown, Broker/Owner at HomeWaters Real Estate.
