Traverse City's East Side is Booming!

While all of the Traverse Area is in the middle of yet another growth spurt, the east side is really coming into it's own in terms of convenience and amenities.  Let's begin with restaurants and taverns.  There are still the great long time local favorites like The Bayview Inn overlooking East Bay and Peegeos (Mike's Sicilian pizza is incredible as are the charred wings!) out by Spider and Arbutus Lake.  Red Mesa Grill on US 31 and Osorio at the corner of M-72 and US 31 both add southern flavor to the mix.  The Grand Traverse Resort offers a number of other dining options from their family dining restaurant, The Sweetwater American Bistro to Jack's Lounge and Aerie for fine dining.  Bravo Zulu Brewing is now located just north of the M-72/US 31 intersection and is quickly gaining recognition for the quality and creativity of their drafts.

Shopping choices are terrific too with Tom's east bay on US 31 and Oleson's at the corner of 4 Mile Road and Hammond.  Construction has also begun on The Grand Traverse Town Center on M-72 in Acme.  The focal point of this multi-use development will be a new Meijer store but a number of other businesses and restaurants will be opening in the future along with additional residential developments.
